The development of computer technology bring us information era. More and more people have cognizant of the importance of information security, so a lot of countries in the world built their Infobahn urgently. Meanwhile some mobsters turn aim to destroy, filch, juggle the important information and make enormous loss for country, corporations and individual. Information security techniques are taken increasing attention with the coming of information age. Keeping the safety and integrity of data in its transmission is our target. Data encryption technique is one of mostly used information security techniques. Data encryption technique will be widely used in the operation of electronic commerce and bank online. So data encryption technique should be thoroughly studied. The computing capacity increases with the development of CPU technology. It is no longer reliable to continue the use of DES as a data encryption means. Against this background, the Americans proposed in 1997 a higher data encryption standard, AES, to replace DES, after 3 years of evaluation tests, finally the arithmetic proposed by two Belgian experts,Rijndael Arithmetic, was defined as AES encryption arithmetic.This article analyses latent threats to information in transmission and put forward the standards of safe services,then makes a summary of traditional encryption and gives a detail discussion in AES(Advanced Encryption Standard), then explains the math knowledge and designing pcinciples of the Rijndael Arithmetic, before gradually analyzing the design process of the arithmetic, with an introduction to the core of the arithmetic, round transformation function. Meanwhile this article thoroughly illuminate the theory of Rijndael. On the basis of the analysis of the arithmetic and concrete practice, with VC6.0 development tools, data process software modules are realized on WIN/NT platform. It discusses the considered technological problems in software realization of Rijndael Arithmetic and methods in realizing data also provided.then,the paper discusses the details of our design to realize testing methods of software module,which mainly includes 2 periods,the first is to test data process classes the data encryption and decryption accuracy in 2 work modes(ECB and CBC), and three key length(128, 192, 256).Then based on the correctness of the tests of the first stage,we test the correctness of encryption and decryption under various work modes and key lengths. Finally the paper indicates the merits and demerits of the arithmetic and how to expandit.Rijndael is safe,efficient,convenient and nimble in use.The excellent performance of Rijndael contributes itself to the choice of AES.
