Multi frequency sender/receiver is widely used in telecommunication area, this article figures out a practical method to design it, then a universal programmable firmware and hardware module based on a single chip DSP( TMS320F206) is designed, it has passed performance test and had been put into practical application.According to the digital signal analysis theory, we can use differential replacement formula to process a received discrete sequence, then find out which frequency energy contained, finally determine the received code. To keep the proper precisions, The MATLAB is used to simulate the whole data procedure; all parameters are adjusted according to the simulated result, such as sequence length, registers, memories and float point position (Q value). The hardware design is based on core chip TMS320F206, A dual port RAM is expanded for data and command exchanging between the host and this module. There is a built in synchronized serial data input and output port on the DSP chip, which time sequence is still needed to fit for the host data IO, so a FPGA chip is inserted between the host data IO pin and the DSP serial I/O pin, it is flexible to meet different kind of host timing sequence, such as the polarity or the width of the pulse, by changing the firmware of FPGA chip.In general, this article gives out an ideal application module on telecommunication field, which based on the classical theory of DSP and optimized by MATLAB. This module can receive and send multi frequency signal without A/D and D/A procedure, it is cheaper and more reliable than before.
