Design And Implementation Of Heterogeneous Data Sources Integration Middleware

This paper researches on heterogeneous data sources integration. Its purpers is to set up a public integrated environment under distributed environment, which shields all differences in aspects of data source including the platform, system environment and internal data structure, and etc. It provides a unified and transparent interface for user to implement the access and publication of relative data between heterogeneous data sources. The paper begins with the analyzing of existing schemes of heterogeneous data sources integration and confronted problems. Then it present the design of Heterogeneous Data Sources Integration Middleware based on XML (HDSIM) by using XML, Java and middleware technology. A brief introduction of each function module in HDSIM and its internal transaction sequence is followed. The detail design and implement of key parts in each module is also given, which include Global mode integration, query language conversion, query decomposition, query plan definition and local data source access. At the last part of paper is the conclusion of this design followed by future works.
