This thesis deals with the psychological foundation and the present status of multimedia technique used as a cognitive tool in the country and abroad. We have designed and exploited some cognitive tools based on web, involving databases of three-dimensioned molecule model, organic chemistry reactivity mechanism, video of chemical experiments and rapid-searching manual of chemistry data . With these tools, we made some teaching experiments and discussed the models, means and effect of the cognitive tools used in chemistry study in high schools ,and then ,have come to some conclusions as the folio wings:The exploitation and practice of chemical cognitive tools Based on web is achieved under the combination of the teaching thought of constructivism and our teaching practice, which is a prefect combination of theory and learning environment of constructivism, and embodies the idea that the students are the main bodies and the teachers are leading factors in education .Furthermore, it is a trial for the reformation of teaching model and teaching method, offering a new way for the combination of information technique and courses and offering materials for the exploitation of course resources. We have found that chemical cognitive tools based on network is effective in teaching in high schools, which not only would improv the efficiency and quality of the class but also would propitious to bring up the students' interest of study and the spirit of independence and innovation . Chemical cognitive tools such as database of three-dimensioned molecule model and chemical experiments are urgently needed in the education of high school. We believe, the application of information technique and multimedia technique in education domain, would certainly lead to a profound change in the teaching contend means and models.
