With the demand of digital consumer, high-definition television (HDTV) and other high-performance digital video conduct are needed. This article mainly related to the video and audio transmission problem of the digital television studio. Based on depth analysis of status at home and abroad, make a depth study of audio multiplex,synchronous transmission and audio de-multiplex in video studio, and completed a preliminary design solution.Firstly, this article describes the inevitable trend of high-definition digital TV and the effects on the quality of digital video and audio signals received which is arose from the transmission channel, introduce the technology of digital audio multiplex into digital video and its superiority in improving the quality of received video and audio signal. Take a deep analysis of the structure of digital audio and high-definition digital video combine with the actual situation of our country. Then design the corresponding digital audio and video sources based on the verilog HDL for the simulation and debug.Secondly, in depth study of the standard SMPTE 299M which introduce the protocol for audio multiplex into high-definition digital video, build the module framework of audio multiplex and make the corresponding design and implementation. Focus on realization of the digital video signal receiving,timing information extraction, digital audio signal receiving,the multiplex audio packets format and the formatted audio packet multiplex into horizontal blanking interval of high-definition digital video.Then, based on the front study of the SMPTE 299M and the actual design of audio multiplex, make the corresponding design of audio de-multiplex. As the proposed settlement of audio multiplex and de-multiplex system design is intended to combine the two function into a single system, at the final phase, integrate the audio multiplex and de-multiplex in parallel into one design. Through an input to select the current function, the video receive module is used both function.Finally, the advantage of system design on FPGA is to reduce the restriction of ASIC, and make a real tailor-made for our products. But also to small system size, increase system flexibility, a variety of circuit modules custom designed on FPGA. The article also carried out the functional simulation for the design in every detail to ensure that each step of the design can be accurately realized. As the flexibility of FPGA based system design, the audio multiplex and de-multiplex function can be connected serially and simulate the two modules in on simulation, and finally make a successful simulation of the entire design.
