Coherent beam combing of fiber lasers and supercontinuum(SC)source haveattracted intense research interests in recent years, which are widely required in thefields of national defence, foundational research, medicine. In this dissertation, someexperiments are carried out in terms of high power all fiber narrow-linewidth fiber laser,muti-tone narrow-linewidth fiber laser and high power all fiber SC source. The contentsof this dissertation are given below:1. An 80 W high power narrow-linewidth fiber laser is demonstrated in an all fibermaster oscillation power amplification (MOPA) structure. The slope efficiency of themain amplifier is 70% with an M2 of less than 1.5. The output power curve indicatesthere is no stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS). The phase noise of this narrowlinewidthfiber amplifier is less than 50 Hz, which is suitable for coherent beamcombination. This narrow-linewidth fiber laser represents the highest output power ofthe same kind of laser in domestic.2. A 4.5 W narrow-linewidth two-tone fiber laser based on stimulated Brillouinscattering is built up. Spectral properties, output power properties and coherence of thislaser are experimentally compared with single-tone fiber laser. A thirteen-tone Brillouinfiber laser is also demonstrated and actively phase-locked. Experiment results show thatmulti-tone narrow-linewidth fiber laser, which is based on stimulated Brillouinscattering, can be used for coherent beam combination. It is a useful new fiber lasersource for coherent beam combination to break SBS power limitation.3. Multi-watt all fiber SC source is built up. The SC broaden process of differentphotonic crystal fiber (PCF) are compared. A 7.28 W SC source based on tapered PCFis also demonstrated, which is to our knowledge the highest SC power from taperedPCF.4. 35.6 W high power high efficient SC is generated with an improved all fiberstructure with spectrum spans over 1100 nm. The peer reviewer appraises that this SCsource is the first level work in worldwide.
