Operating in the severe and unpredicted environments, spacecraft is always at the risk of failures. Unfortunately, it is very hard to make repairs in the orbit due to its special operational environments. High reliability is preferred. Inspired by the growing process of multi-cell organism, embryonic circuit is very promising to realize the ambition with its capabilities of self-diagnosis and self-repair.FIR filter is one of key components of many spacecraft electronic equipments. In this thesis, embryonic-based self-repairing technique is researched to apply to FIR filter. The main contents are as follows:(1) The development of bio-inspired self-repairing technique is outlined, including its repair mechanism, structures, functions and design processes.(2) An embryonic-type self-repairing FIR filter is developed after analyzing the traditional FIR filter structure and constructing its mapping relationship of embryonic array circuits. Simulations are also performed by using Xilinx ISE package to validate its self-repairing capability.(3) An experimental embryonic-type self-repairing FIR filter system is developed. and some types of faults are injected. It is shown that the self-repairing capability is considerable good without losing its filtering performances. At last, the main research works are summarized and some advices f further research are also proposed.
