MIMO technology is one of the major breakthroughs in modern communication, which can not only improve channel capacity without additional spectrum bandwidth and transmitting powers, but also enchance system transmission reliability with additional redundance, as the key technology in modern communication it increasingly becomes the hotspot in research.For the convenience of simulation and evaluation of key technologys and processing algorithms in MIMO system, it is quite necessary to build the MIMO channel model; the paper has a study of a series of standardized MIMO models(SCM, WINNER II, etc) proposed by 3GPP organization, which can realize the modeling of multiple diversity technologys in different scenarios. For the modeling of MIMO channels suitable for landscape characteristics in China, there is a need of channel parameters estimation depending on channel measurements. The commonly used channel parameters estimation algorithms (EM, SAGE, etc) can effectively achieve the estimation of small scale parameters, the correspondingly large scale parameters which represent channel fading characteritics can also be obtained by statistical method. In other words, channel modeling can be realized after a series of work such as parameters estimation and so on. The performance of MIMO channel system has been simulated using different diversity technology in this paper, as channel correlation has a significant impact on system performance, channel correlation expressions have been derived at the end and there is a simulation study of space-time correlation.
