With the improvement of 2-d image compression, transmission and display technology, the next target of reproducing natural scenery must be reappearance of three-dimensional objects. Now stereo imaging technology has become the focus of research and related fields.Multi-view free stereo image capture and displaying is an important branch of the stereoscopic imaging technology. Some of the key issues have not been well solved. At present, stereo image displaying technology is not the difficulty of the research, because we already have all sorts of stereoscopic displaying devices, such as two viewpoint, eight viewpoint three-dimensional TV, viewers can view stereoscopic images without glasses, therefore real time capture technology of stereoscopic image is the hotspot and difficulty in recent research. At present, the commonly used stereoscopic image capture Technology is to capture N images form different viewpoints in the same scene synchronically with N cameras arranged in specific rule. And then make use of some algrithm to compose these N images. However, the problem of doing this is you have to make sure the control parameters of N cameras are exactly the same and precision of cameras is very high, this is difficult to achieve when there are many cameras. Therefore, multi-view real-time capture technology becomes the focus of research.This paper refers to the massive literature and relevant patents, making an improvement of commonly used methods based on this.Only using two or five cameras synchronously get the images from different viewpoints, then using graphical deformation or depth interpolation to get the image between the virtual view images. One advantage of this method is you don't need to make sure the parameters of cameras are the same only need to make sure two or five of them are the same. Another advantage of this method is the system need not to be real-time, So that the complexity of the system reduces greatly. After the subjective evaluation system,we find that the indexes of the stereo images generated by the virtual view images which are interpolated from other images captured by the cameras are close to those generated by images all captured by cameras. Facts prove that, it has very good effect.
