Research On Visual Representation Of Video Key Frame

With the development of network, rich media on the internet is also developed from the simple GIFs, sounds, turned to more informative videos.Key frame is extracted from the video content that contains a set of discrete key frame, by observing the key frame, you can get most information form the video. Keyframe-based video summary technology is widely used in online video search and animation rendering.Information visualization is using computer graphics and image processing technology, to present abstract information visually, in order to help retrieval of information and enhance the recognition of patterns. Visual interface allows users to observe and understand information more effectively,helps users to find the internal features and rules.The natural linear structure of video information is not easy to rapid retrieval and understand. With key frames and information visualization technologies we can analyse video in a nonlinear way.This paper tried to define the differences between frames with information theory, and apply it to key frame selection algorithm. And use mutual information to measure the distance between key frame and video.This paper gives a visual representation of key frames.Compared to time-sequenced way, our method not only presents the time sequence,but can also display the segment and the structure of the video. This can help users to quickly retrieve the view video.
