The core of the research on the robot vision navigation is to design a navigation algorithm. Algorithm's input is the digital image obtained from the image input device and the output is the advice to the motion behavior including forward, backward, turning left, turning right, speed up, slow down etc.In this paper, the technology of digital image processing in the robot vision navigation is studied, a digital image processing system used for the researching on the navigation algorithm is designed. The system is built based on the robot hardware platform. The main research and design include the following three respects:1. Image acquisition, display and robot motion control. Image acquisition and robot motion control are the basis of the robot vision navigation. The commom technology on the image acquisition is first studied, then an image acquisition system based on the VFW is designed. The principles of robot motion control is studied, and then a simple and efficient motion control system is designed. The image type obtained by VFW and the technology of image display on the Windows Operating System is studied, and then the video data is displayed on the Windows Operating System.2. Image processing framework. The process of processing image is studied. The model of image processing is set up, on which the image processing framework is designed based. The design of the framework is based on the idea of modular, which is to divide the design into multiple modules by the function. The modules are connected by the unified interface. The idea does well to the implanting and extension.3. Experiment and verification. The common image processing algorithm is written. Through the study and research on the real-time image captured by the robot, the advantage of the framework is proved.
