Video surveillance system plays a very important role not only in daily lift such as transport sector (such as airports, ports, railway, subway, etc.), government agencies, financial services, retail, critical infrastructure, parks, prison, home securityand so on ,but also in country projects ,for example, the Olympics and the Safe City,etc. Such a widespread application prospect makes video surveillance system become one hotspot of the current study.The face of increasingly complex features of monitoring environment, video surveillance system based on the DM642 has become the preferred product. Intelligent video surveillance is tendency to save the expenditure of security personnel resources, and enhance the quality of monitoring. So, the design of new system considers the DM642 features, also focuses on the detection and tracking algorithm, the final adoption of migration and optimization makes the system not only can achieve an accurate real-time target tracking, also be able to realize the accurate track effect. In this respect,the main contents of this paper is as follows:Firstly, constructed the hardware platform made DM642 video processing chip as core, meanwhile, constructed the software platform usesd CCS development environment.According to the characteristic of existing platform, in order to achieve a high rate of real-time and accurate tracking results and analyze the characteristics of the various algorithms, the detection and tracking algorithm are studied. The final choice is Surendra background updating algorithm for the detection algorithm and feature-based tracking algorithm, as well as the nearest neighbor matching criteria to achieve the software design. The test of PC machine has a good tracking performance.To further improve the tracking efficiency and the physical characteristics of the hardware in the existing platform, software implementation of the tracking algorithm was transplanted optimization. Has 8 concurrent operation unit characteristic in view of DM642, selects the software pipelining, to code massive round-robin algorithm optimization. Simultaneously, unifies in DM642 the memory system multistage buffer characteristics, the DMA technology to the video processing data gain way optimization; And, uses the internal integration function, TI Corporation IMG storehouse function and so on to carry out in the efficiency from the code to optimize.In a word, uses the multimedia processer DM642's characteristics,through to the video detection and tracking system's software architedture, the code carried out the speed optimization, may real-time and efficient tracking of results. The system can apply to various fields, and has the extremely market value.
