With the development of modern economy and the change of marketing environment, Virtual Enterprise,as a new organizational model,emerges as the time required. The basis of Virtual Enterprise is resource-sharing. It requires whole integration of information,application and process during different members of Virtual Enterprise. Members of Virtual Enterprise may come from different regions and have different computing environments and application systems. Compared with information intrgration of traditional enterprises, the biggest obstacle of the virtual enterprise information integration is the heterogeneity of different information systems and the dynamics of intergation. The urgent problem to solve for Virtual Enterprise is how to build a seamless information integration platform, which would meet characteristic of Virtual Enterprise. It should support the virtual enterprise information sharing and business integration and achieve the members of the virtual enterprise interoperability during members.Because of its technical limitations, traditional distributed component technology can not be a good solution for the Internet based virtual enterprise information integration problem, while the mainstream technology to resolve this problem is Web Service. Web Service adopts SOA and it has open and standard protocols so it would solve the problem of heterogeneous systems for virtual enterprise information integration in a certain extent. However, because of lack of good semantic definitions, traditional Web Service cannot meet the requirement of dynamic integration. It leads inefficiency of Service retrieval and it effects the virtual enterprise business process automation seriously. So this paper has presented a Virtual Enterprise information integration platform based on Semantic Web Service in the purpose to support the virtual enterprise to work together effectively. In this platform Web Services and business processes are described by ontology, which is a language of computer understanding, to achieve Service matching,composition and invoking. In this paper, the study reads as follows:(1) Firstly, this paper has researched theory about Virtual Enterprise and has analyzed the characteristic of its information system. Then it has introduced mainstream technology of Virtual Enterprise information integration deeply. Finally, it has summarized some achievements on this domain.(2) This paper has proposed information integration need for Virtual Enterprise based on analysis the organization model of Virtual Enterprise. And through the research on existing solutions of Virtual Enterprise information integration,technology foundation– Semantic Web Service has been introduced.(3) Based on the characteristics of virtual enterprise information integration, this paper has designed a Virtual Enterprise information integration platform based on Semantic Web Service technology. And it also has described the operation and superiority of the proposed platform. The paper has detailed designed key modules of the platform-service management level and business process level. And then it has proposed a new multi-layer Semantic Web Service matching algorithm based on dynamic service discovery needs.(4) The paper has presented the application of the proposed platform in travel virtual enterprise.In this paper, the virtual enterprise information integration platform based on Semantic Web services inherits scalability,loose coupling and other advantages of Web Service and also solve the heterogeneous problem of semantics to some extent the same time. This platform is significant for solving the virtual enterprise information integration problems.
