The wireless communication technology had an amazing development during the last decade, and it had changed the life style of human beings dramatically. From the global view, the numbers of wireless communication users keep growing for each year, the wireless communication technology is in the expansive developing step.With the dramatically growth of wireless communication users and the start of wide-band service operation, communication channel became more and more crowd, the 3th and 4th communication technology LTE(Long Tern Evolution)and Wimax(Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access)require high linearity for communication channel, and the power amplifier is the most important part that caused signal nonlinearity for communication channel, so the linearity technology of power amplifier had became the focus of wireless communication research field.This paper mainly design and debug RF power amplifier based on GSM base station then research the analog predistortion technology, below are main parts of this paper:1. Set GSM(Global System for Mobile communication)base station system as background, introduce the basic knowledge of base station network and the roadmap of power amplifier developing in base station.2. Introduce the basic operation knowledge of RF power amplifier, analysis the cause of nonlinearity signal generated by RF power amplifier in detail and introduce the most popular linearity technology.3. Simulate the driving amplifier by ADS, then debug the amplifier and analysis the measurement data, debate the problems met in debug and the approach method.4. Simulate and design high power amplifier of LDMOS, then debug and measure the PA,especially research the stability test method,analysis the test data in detail.5. Introduce the principles of analog predistortion, and simulate the analog predisotion system to prove the principles.This paper based on the current status of wireless communication, introduce developing roadmap of the RF power amplifier in base station, emphasis on depict the importance of RF power amplifier linearity technology, analysis the working principles of RF power amplifier, design RF amplifier by ADS and debug RF amplifier; then analysis the measured data of power amplifier, finally, research the popular power amplifier linearity technology especially focus on analog predistortion technology for different configuration .
