Because high computation of Traditional wavelet transform limited itself extensive applications in the field of image compression. However, optical wavelet transform have the physical nature superiority of excellent parallelism large capacity and High-speed in the optical information processing system, it provides effective way to images compression. It has important theoretical values and significances on transmission and storage of image information to achieve image compression based on optical wavelet transform. The papers elaborates developments and basic theory of wavelet transform, analysis the principle of typical optical information processing system and the features of space frequency, this papers proposed a design and production method of optical wavelet filter for 4F System.Researching the features of space frequency of optical 4F System. From the basic theory of Fourier Optical, this paper elaborates the theory of 4F system and the features of space frequency, analysis devices sampling characteristics and input images energy concentration of image space frequency features.reseached the relationship of image size and image reconstruction. Optical experiment and theory analysis proved that space filter range of optical wavelet transform in the field of image compression precision construction in side of the spectrum is limited by devices sampling characteristics\and system noise and input image size and image energy concentration.Researching the way of design and realization about optical wavelet filters. Introduced the relationship about wavelet filters coefficient and wavelet function and scaling function.Analysised the choice of wavelet to the realization of wavelet filters. In the base of optical wavelet transform realizations system, research the kind of optical wavelet filters. By means of simulation calculation and optical experimental, we design a kind of wavelet filters, it could reconstruct original image. Although the accuracy is low, it is a significant progress to optical wavelet realizes image compression. It laid a basis for image fast transmission.
