This paper introduces the current situation and development trend of China auto industry ,high incidence of road traffic accidents, analysis the crash situation of the car crash and vehicle passive safety systems. Then the vehicle passive safety systems core components-vehicle airbag control system is introduced. Finally, wavelet analysis and neural network theory are used to analyze the acceleration signals to determine the direction of car crash.Airbag control system is composed of a series of functional modules. These modules include power modules, the microprocessor module, ignition driver module, the acceleration signal acquisition module, data storage module, the external sensor communication module, communication module.Wavelet analysis and neural network theory are used to analyze the acceleration signals to determine the direction of car crash. First, use wavelet analysis to denoise the acceleration signals. Then, normalize the acceleration signals, convert them into the sine of the angle between X-axis and acceleration, select the sample set and test set, create a neural network, train and test neural network, determine the direction of car crash by the trained neural network.
