U disk, in the thesis referring to memory cards, USB memory sticks, USB hard disks and other removable storage devices, is widely used in information storage and exchange at the present time. When it provides us with convenience of use, it brings great potential problems to information security.The paper firstly comprehensively analyzes the potential risks of information security when using U disk, and introduces existing methods of technological implementation, characteristics and disadvantages of different encryption systems of disk file, as well as knowledge about Windows system model, I / O manager, virtual memory manager (VMM), cache manager, file system driver, file system filter driver and algorithm of data encryption. With an in-depth analysis of mini-filter model's basic framework, principle of realization, technical specifications and main features, the paper secondly puts forward a design proposal based on U disk transparently-encrypting file system with windows mini-filter model(hereinafter referred to as UTEFS), clearly particularizes the system requirements, performance indicators, functional requirements and the overall structure, and introduces in detail the workflow and methods of technological implementation of the various functional modules of UEFS. And the paper finally points out the improvements of UTEFS and puts forward a solution to it.After a trial period of UTEFS, it has been proved that with advantages such as security, stability, common using and convenience, UTEFS not only protects the safety of the data in U disk but also guarantees the security when data in U disk are exchanged. The system, therefore, is practical and will be used widely.
