With the continuous development of the global technology, especially the computer technology,which is more rapidly, the speed of CPU is faster and faster for the hardware technology, and the processing capability is more and more powerful; and for the software technology, application programs is continuously expanding, especially the appearance of the Internet, which expand the application range of the computer. Many applications need to be running on the heterogeneous platforms in a network environment, so distributed computing technology gradually becomes the mainstream. In order to enable the users to use the information and computing resources transparently and effectively on the heterogeneous platforms in the network environment, distributed computing middleware becomes one of the key technologies to achieve distributed computing. Message Oriented Middleware is one of the middleware, and also the development hot of current middleware technology, which simplifies the data transmission between applications, shields the underlying heterogeneous operating systems and the network platform, provides consistent communication standards and application exploitation, and ensures the reliable, cross-platform message transmission and data exchange in the distributed computing network environment.MOM includes two communication modes, Point to Point and publish/subscribe. Point to point mode takes message queues as intermediate storage, which enables the data communication have the asynchronous nature. While the publish/subscribe mode uses theme associated application components to make data communication anonymous. Publish/subscribe mode has in fact became the informal standard of asynchronous middleware because of much more intelligent and effective. This paper proposed a publish/subscribe system structure based on message middleware according to the features of message oriented middleware.At present people have suggested many kinds of design modes of this system structure; however, these models still have many limitations in application of the asynchronous middleware. This paper firstly analyzed the publish/subscribe mode, combined the TCP/IP network protocol, proposed and achieved a conception of publish/subscribe system based on message middleware from the point of system level, which conforms to the design standard of publish/subscribe mode, and also applies to the improvement of asynchronism and cross-platform. Secondly, it presented the general framework of the improved system and the framework of the client and server of the composed system, and introduced the data structure and some properties'meaning of the message, as well as the message transmission mechanism and some operations of the queue. Finally, we generalized and summarized the design mode of publish/subscribe system based on message-oriented middleware, and discussed the future of this research.
