The rapid development of the computer network and multimedia information network has reached unprecedented width and depth. But at the same time, convenient and efficient information exchange has also brought information security risk. Conventional cryptography is unable to meet the current needs of information security. Information hiding technology enhances the security of transmission of information, and it provides an effective method of Information security.In this paper, on the basis of researching on existing image information hiding system, a fractal image coding based information hiding system is proposed. Transform-domain based fractal image coding of Information Hiding algorithm is used to implement the system. The system can solve the security problems in the secret image information transmission.By analyzing the traditional quad-tree fractal coding algorithm, a human visual system-based fractal color image coding algorithm is presented in this paper. The feature of Human Visual System (HVS) is used to quad-tree partition range blocks. Then the correlation of r, g, b components of a color image is used to merge three color components into one. Experimental results indicate that the method presented in this paper is faster than classical approach and has a higher compression ratio than classical approach while remaining a good reconstructed image quality.Based on the HVS-based fractal image coding algorithm, this paper proposed a HVS-based information hiding algorithm based on fractal image coding. Experimental results indicate that the method presented in this paper has good robustness under JPEG compression, additive noise, image filtering, image sharpening and blurring, image geometric deformation and other attacks while remaining a good transparency.Finally, based on Visual C++ 2005 and PowerBuilder 9.0 platform, this paper designed and implemented the system, which is also being applied to ship-shore communication system. Experimental results indicate that the system is able to complete a secret communication under normal circumstances and interference environment.
