Data hiding can embed secret message into multimedia carriers, which is widely used in the applications of communication security, copyright protection and so on.In the field of data hiding,Reversible Data Hiding in Encrypted Images(RDHEI)has become a research hotspot. It enables the data hider to embed secret data into the encrypted image. The receiver can extract the secret data from the marked encrypted image and recover the original cover image. However, traditional RDHEI schemes have the issues of low visual quality and embedding capacity, high computational complexity of encryption, and these schemes cannot achieve the fault-tolerance of image and secret data. Moreover, traditional RDHEI only involves one data hider, and is not suitable for multiparty applications. In addition,as an important branch of data hiding research, digital watermarking focuses on the robustness of watermarking information. And,how to protect the privacy of image carrier while ensuring the robustness of watermark is also an urgent problem to be solved. To solve the above issues, this paper studies reversible data hiding in encrypted images based on secret image sharing, and designs two specific schemes. The research aims to reduce the computational complexity of image encryption, improve visual quality of the marked image and the embedding capacity, and provide robustness and faulttolerance for the secret data and image carrier.A robust reversible watermarking in encrypted images scheme based on additive secret sharing is proposed to solve the robustness issue of watermarking in encrypted images. In the scheme, the receiver can both extract the watermarks and recover the cover image when the marked image is not attacked. If the marked image is attacked, the receiver can still extract the embedded watermarks.Additive secret sharing and block-level scrambling are developed to generate the encrypted image in the scheme. Then, the robust reversible watermarking based on significant bit Prediction Error Expansion(PEE)is performed by Secure Multi-party Computation(SMC).In addition, based on a two-stage framework for robust reversible watermarking and the Patchwork watermarking technique,a modified scheme with high robustness is proposed.Experimental results and theoretical analysis show that the proposed robust reversible watermarking in encrypted images scheme and the modified scheme are secure, robust and effective. For the fault-tolerance issue of reconstructing secret data and image, this paper proposed a novel reversible data hiding in encrypted images based on secret sharing using CRT.The CRTbased secret sharing is developed as an image encryption method. To embed the secret data into these image shares,a multiparty embedding method in the encrypted domain is proposed which uses the prediction error information. In a(k,n)-threshold scheme, after collecting k-out-of-n shares from the participants, the receiver can reconstruct the marked encrypted image, and the image decryption and the data extraction can be completed. The cover image can also be recovered.Experimental results and theoretical analysis show that the proposed scheme has a high visual quality and embedding capacity, and the computational complexity of image encryption is lower than that of other existing schemes. The scheme also achieves the faulttolerance of reconstructing secret data and image.Generally, the proposed scheme is secure, effective and fault-tolerant.
