This thesis introduces the design and implementation of the software for Wireless Multimedia Environment Monitoring System. Wireless Multimedia Environment Monitoring System consists of traditional Wireless Sensor Networks, Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks, a sink node, several servers and clients. The software of Wireless Multimedia Environment Monitoring is deployed in these platforms. Through distributed, coordinated control and management to the whole system, it can meet the long-term, fine-grained and accurate monitoring purposes with combination of traditional Wireless Sensor Networks' low-power and Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks' rich information collecting.The main task of this thesis is designing and implementing the software of Wireless Multimedia Environment Monitoring System which is up to the reqirements. It based on the analysis of the functions of this system. The thesis firstly introduces the structure and platform environment of Wireless Multimedia Environment Monitoring System. Then, it provides the overall design of the software according to system's reqirments. Based on this, it researches the principle of AODV routing protocol and implements the protocol on embeded Linux system according to the multi-hop communication in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks which is used for multimedia stream transportation. Using modular design and multi-threaded programming, the Supervision and Control Service Software is implemented on embeded Linux system of sink node according to the functions of the system. Using Object-oriented design concept and .NET Remoting technology, the server-side and client-side software which is in C/S architechture is implemented on Windows operating system and .NET Framework. They together provide the automatic and real-time monitoring, system control and management, data query and analysis functions and friendly user interface.According to testing results, all functions of the software for Wireless Multimedia Environment Monitoring System are to meet the design requirements. And it can be applied to this system.
