Two-dimensional barcode is an extension of one-dimensional barcode. Currently, it has been widely used in the industries of publication, manufacture, medicine, certificates management and so on. So far, domestic and international scholars have developed dozen kinds of two-dimensional barcode. However, for the reason that almost all the 2D barcode are designed for general application, the special needs of some areas cannot be satisfied, the relevant field of supply chain management in especial. To solve these issues, we have re-designed all aspects of two-dimensional barcode.In this paper, we firstly describe the development of supply chain management and analyze the relevant field of supply chain when using 2D barcode and get some special needs, which include the characteristic of scalability and modifiability and query of operation trajectory. Secondly, we introduce the inheritance model to design barcode data formant and the logical structure to manage the life cycle of 2D barcode, that makes the barcode meet all the aforementioned characteristics requirement. Then, based on the quantitative analysis of barcode printing hardware and image acquisition technology, we developed a systematic approach to design the physical structure of the 2D barcode by which anchor points and information bit lattice can be generated automatically; Furthermore, to enhance the two-dimensional barcode error correction capability, we use the hybrid method of BCH codes, Reed-Solomon code and block error correction algorithms and use mask technology to reduce the recognition error rate of code information caused by the gathering black points. Finally, we applied our method to a project to verify the accuracy and efficiency of our method in practice.Our 2D barcode meet the characteristic of scalability and modifiability, and the more important is that we can automatically manage objects and reduce errors caused by manual operation. Meanwhile, the idea in this paper is helpful for the design of 2D barcode in some other areas.
