Software as a Service(SaaS) is a popular concept in IT industry in recent years.It's a Internet-based software layout model to provide software services,an Innovative software application model,which has many advantages like less initial investmen,easy to control costs,quick effective and no post-maintenance.It' s very suitable for small and medium enterprises or individual.With the introduction of Taobao Open Platform(TOP) and the proposition of personalized requirements of the more mature Taobao sellers,more and more developers join the development team of TOP,while the TOP service Users Taobao seller who have the characteristics of "large number,small-scale" determined TOP applications should use SaaS model. Therefore,the study on SaaS model in TOP is very meaningful.This article introduces the concept,features of SaaS model and TOP's development,compares SaaS's 4-level maturity model and proposes the issues and challenges when using SaaS in TOP applications.Next,in this article the architecture design and database architecture design of SaaS model are analyzed.This page alse researchs the implementation strategy of key technologies like data isolation,configurable(data configurable and features configurable),scalable under SaaS multi-tenant architecture and put forward some optimization strategy from the view of database level,application level and WEB level.Besides,some bottleneck which exist in the interaction of the system and TOP are solved.In the end,this article discusses the detailed design and implementation of the TOP application based on SaaS.The TOP application referd in the page was finished by Linux+Mysql+Java and can support ten millions-level stably and efficiently.
