Along with the development of society, computer technology and internet communication, the industrial enterprises'automation and informatization is also greatly improved. Chemical industry, which is as an important industrial field, its automation and informatization has grew out of nothing, from small-scale application to large-scale informatization integration degree.At present, the application of DCS in chemical industrial'workshop-control department and the ERP in top department is quite widely with comparative mature technology. With the development of the informatization, there is more and more demand for connection between the two separate systems to convey the information and make the communication. ERP system needs to keep abreast of the latest deviation information between the production and the plan, while DCS workshop-control department can get the change of plan timely. So the MES system was born, which collect the data of DCS and ERP system, realized the information's integration in the whole production management.From the function and performance of MES, it can transfer the production-control departments' information, which is materials' consumption, machine and man-hours information, finished products info, and batch No. info, etc to the ERP system. Then ERP system will update these data. MES, ERP system can send the plan information, production orders to each workshop to enable the workshop can produce following the order. Based on this function of the MES, many concrete functions and applications derive, such as work plans, materials tracing, production dispatching, quality management, device management, data analysis, production statistic, database, etc. These functions strengthen the management during the production process and make it more scientific and efficient.In the process of actualizing the MES functions, it needs to combine the actual condition of factory, because not all of its functions can be actualized at any of a factory. According to the feature and demanding of Feixiang Chemical, combining with the function of MES and actual condition of Feixiang Chemical, this thesis is mainly stating the implementation and application of MES in detail.Feixiang Chemical's MES system realized the communication of SAP system with 30 sets of DCS from different enterprises, as well as site PLC and paperless recorder. On this basis, it developed the warning alarm module, flow chart module, quality management module, statistical form module, device management module, document-record management module, energy management module, environmental management module, quality system module and working flow management module. Every module will connect the actual condition of Feixiang Chemical closely having become one of important part of informatization management. In addition, based on the MES'system function, Feixiang Chemical established its production dispatching center that can fulfill its function of production dispatching and ordering better.
