With the continuous development of modern industry, in the engineering testing fieldneeds more extensive the geometric parameters of measurement. The fast development ofcomputer vision and image processing technology, that promoted image measurementtechnology with its non-contact, high efficiency, high precision, high degree of automationand anti-interference ability, as a modern measuring mean , play a more and more importantrole in the industrial production. Started from the problem of geometry measurement, in thepaper,studied measurement technology of geometric parameters based on the differentorientations image sequences.Firstly, introduced the geometric size measurement technique, image processing,computer vision and other related theories, described the history of these technologies,development status and trends; on this basis, according to needs of the large object imagemeasurement geometric parameters, proposed a geometric measurement system based onimage sequences, proposed measurement technology of geometric parameters based on thedifferent orientations image sequences. Then, studied image calibration method andassociated image processing algorithms, calibrated the camera use the single-plane thetemplate calibration method based on Zhang's algorithm.Finally, measured the target of a building for the experimental system and the method isvalidated, analyzed the error of measurement results. Experimental results show that thedesigned system and the proposed method can quickly obtain accurate geometrical parametersof objects.
