Train wheel is one of the vital parts that will affect the safety of the train. Therefore, the parameter detection of train's wheel has become the vital factors of the safety of the train. The geometric dimensions include the flange thickness, flange hight and so on. Due to the inconvenience of contact measurement, this essay proposed a dynamic detection system of geometric parameters of the train wheel rim based on digital image processing.The essay , by the use of LabVIEW to the Matlab the interface, give full play to Matlab math functions and develop a train wheel flange dynamic testing system calibration interface, it is simple , easy to operate and possess rapid implementation and computing power.The detection system of geometric parameters of the train wheel rim has been finished. The principle of binocular vision inspection has been detailed analysed. The calibration of binocular vision inspection has been finished, the result of calibration is in accordance with the parameters of the camara. The extraction of the contour on flange and the three-dimensional reconstruction has been achieved.
