Degradation of digital X-ray medical image such as low contrast and blurring during radiographic imaging, caused by complexity of body tissue and effects of X-ray scattering and electrical noise etc., can worsen the results of analysis and diagnosis. So it is necessary to enhance X-ray medical image to improve its visual quality, including contrast enhancement and detail enhancement.Review of some existing enhancement methods for medical images points out that limitation of these methods. Then produce the image enhancement method, making us have a general concept and understanding. Based on consulting a lot of related reference, it is illustrated the naissance of fuzzy enhancement algorithm of digital image, the improved algorithm by the scholar before, and the latest development and pulse about this algorithm. First it introduces the classical fuzzy enhancement algorithm of Pal and King, and points out its limitation of this method, it introduces two improved fuzzy enhancement algorithm of single threshold method and Multiple threshold methods. The fourth chapter introduces the specific application of Markov Random Field in medical X-ray image enhancement compared with the laplace operator. The last chapter summarizes the X-ray medical image enhancement algorithm and prospect the later work. This paper's mainly innovation points are as follows:(1) It puts forward fuzzy contrast algorithm based on homogeneous degree detection, It makes use of the characteristic of medical X-ray image, the use of histogram threshold value solves the difficulty of determining the threshold value in fuzzy enhancement algorithm.(2) It puts forward medical X-ray image enhancement algorithm based on fuzzy contrast, proposes the fuzzy contrast concept and operation, thus it increase the grey contrast between the pixel grey and its neighbor. Considering the fuzzy enhancement methods before based on medical X-ray image enhancement overall image, then improved the Membership functions. (3) It puts forward medical X-ray image enhancement algorithm based on Markov Random Field. The Markov Random Field often used in image segmentation and image restoration applied to medical X-ray image enhancement, and it gives the specific Markov Random Field model architecture, combined with the sharpening mask, Markov Random Field enhancement algorithm has a good effect on enhancing edge details.
