With the rapid development of computer, communication and electronic technology, the video based on images is increasingly winning the favor of the people with its character of visual, advantageous and profuse information. And the moving object in video sequences has drawn the public more attention usually. But the enormous video image data and the slow processing speed become the bottleneck. How quickly and effectively to detect moving targets in the video has very important from theoretical meanings and practical value.It is widely used both in military and industry. At the same time, they have also made higher demands for the system's speed, integration, reliability, flexibility and so on. For the requirements, this paper developes a reconfigurable moving target video detecting IP core based on the SOPC Technology. It is convenient for the users to add this IP core to the moving target video detection system, whose video detection algorithm is implemented through hardware, in order to achieve the purpose of hardware acceleration and greatly enhance the performance of the system.Paper first expounded topic research background, development status and the video processing basic knowledge related to moving target video detection. And then introduced the hardware design and implementation about moving target detection system based on the SOPC technology in detail, including the overall design, Video Capture, Video Processing, Line Buffer and Buffer Control Logic,VGA display and the creation of user IP core etc. Then introduces emphatically the logic design and implementation about moving target detection.Here, we researched and designed the Frame difference method. In view of the drawback of the experimental results, we put forward an improved method, and given the experimental results and analysis for the improved moving target detection method. Finally.we compared the FPGA design method based on System Generator tool to the traditional FPGA design method that edit VHDL/Verilog code, and generatored the VHDL/Verilog code that can be run on FPGA.Experiment results show that the video MTD IP core has high integrated. We can reconstruct and configurate it according to the need, which make it has high reliability and strong flexibility, and can be easy to maintain and extend.It has short development cycle, and can achieve video MTD in real-time.
