Ka-band reconfigurable antenna technology based on RF MEMS can meet the miniaturization,intelligent, wide-bandwidth, high-speed, large capacity and high-security development needs of wireless systems,also provide feasible security solutions for broadband satellite and military communications.In this paper, we have achieved six Ka-band reconfigurable antenna models by combining RF MEMS technology and EBG structure, and reasearched on the key design and implementation technologies of the reconfigurable antenna. Our contributions are as follows:1. First of all, the key technologies which applied in the design and implementation of Ka-band reconfigurable antenna:RF-MEMS techonology,EBG structure,microstrip patch antenna and slot antenna are describled, the wave excitation and dispersion phenomenon under the high frequency environment are also discussed.2. Three new frequency-reconfigurable antenna models based on RF MEMS technology and EBG structure are proposed in this paper including:nested rectangular patch antenna;nested circular patch antenna;microstrip slot antenna with good index parameters,providing guidance for the future dual-band or mutil-band communications.3. Three new pattern-reconfigurable antenna models based on RF MEMS technology and EBG structure are proposed in this paper,while getting good index parameters,providing practical significance for the future beam scanning communications.
