As the internet and multimedia technology develop rapidly, stream media has been one of the main applications in multimedia technology currently. The PV of those video websites, such as YouTube.com, youku.com and tudou.com, keeps a high value, while the user amount of IPT V, such as pptream, ppTV and UUsee, increases stably. Situations above indicate that the stream media has spread widely, and watching video has become the first choice of web browsers. However, because the internet is an open system and data in it is very huge, the rapid development of stream media also triggers some issues, such as illegal information and copyright violation. As the stream media system is different from traditional multimedia in transportation, the above two issues cannot be solved effectively in existing monitoring mechanism. In another hand, now the user interactivity of stream media seems relatively single and cannot meet users'demand. Thus, how to add user's operations is also a concern in stream media system. In order to meet the demand of video monitoring in the internet by content, this paper proposes and implements an RTP recognition algorithm, which is able to judge whether the data packets carried by UDP are RTP datagram. The algorithm guarantees the accuracy of monitoring. In addition, as to enrich the user's operation of stream media, a theory of double speed playing is applied in this paper. Via modifying stream media video file format and adding functions in stream server, double speed playing can be implemented. During the playing mode, only necessary packets for playing are transported, so the client interactivity is extended while the amount of data traffic is decreased.
