Power telecommunication networks is a private network which focuses on supporting the production of electric power. After several years development, this private network has been pretty large in scale, and also develops quite rapidly. Since it plays an important role in electric power production, it's quite necessary to guarantee this network to run stably and safely. Traditional maintenance methods which are paper-based, are prone to human errors. What's more, it can bring many problems like low efficiency, such as inspection task missing etc. And it's also difficult for managers to monitor the maintenance workers effectively. And it's possible for some irresponsible workers to fake the handwritten reports. Hence, electric power company is in urgently need of a new maintenance system, which can not only promote the maintenance quality, but also monitor workers effectively.In order to improve the maintenance quality and the management level, by doing some research about RFID and mobile device technology and their application status, this paper designs and implements a maintenance system based on RFID technology for power telecommunications networks. This paper firstly introduces briefly about the power telecommunication networks and its characteristics. By doing this, it's easier to understand the application environment of this maintenance system in a macro way. After this, maintenance services are introduced in detail from several views:the evolution of maintenance plan methods, the process of maintenance plan making, maintenance service flow analysis and fault management flow analysis. Furthermore, this paper analyses the research status of maintenance system, and then points out the disadvantages of the traditional maintenance methods. After this, the principles of RFID technology, embedded database system and portable mobile devices are discussed. And then, the requirement analysis of this maintenance is introduced in detail. It includes two parts in this requirement analysis report:functional requirement and non-functional requirement. Eventually, the designs of this system, every function unit and the database are discussed in the view of software engineering. Finally, the system implemented by this topic has been put into practice successfully through power telecommunication networks, which verifies the correctness and practicality of the design.
