With the growing maturity of the intelligent optical network, the service-oriented and user-oriented functions such as rapid service provisioning, efficient resource allocation, fast protection and restoration, and dynamic bandwidth adjustment make the intelligent optical network apply to more and more scenes. In many different scenes, the routing and wavelength assignment methods cannot meet the requirements of the business, so the schemes of routing and wavelength assignment need to be enhanced.Base on these problems, the author researches on routing and wavelength assignment, especially on wavelength assignment for the data-intensive transmission, and routing under the constraints of the external physical factors of the network. In this paper, two novel schemes of routing and wavelength assignment have been proposed and realized in the intelligent optical network test bed.Firstly, this paper researches on wavelength assignment algorithm in GMPLS. After analyzing the characters of the data-intensive transmission, one improved wavelength assignment scheme is given. Besides, the performance of this scheme is simulated based on distributed signaling protocol (RSVP-TE).Secondly, this paper focuses on the routing algorithm in the intelligent optical network. A novel routing algorithm with the constraints of the external physical factors is proposed in this paper. This scheme can promote the performance of the network.
