In recent years, with the rapid development of Internet technology, IP multimedia systems support more and more service types and the space that users can select becomes bigger. However, even though the diversification of service types and the large emergence of services enrich people's lives and satisfy people's service needs, but the phenomenon of service redundancy appears. How to find out the best service between services that meet our service needs causes some problems to users. View of the above phenomenon, problems such as proper design of method,algorithm,efficiency of service selection,improving user's satisfaction,load balance have become industry's concern and research focus.To solve this problem, this article presents applying context-aware technology to select service in IMS system. Context-aware technology can collect users and services' context information and it also can store and process this information. Service selection method which is represented by this article makes use of this information to select the best service for users and achieve the optimal network load balance at the same time. Based on above ideas, this article proposes service selection architecture that is designing context manager and service selection engine in HSS of IMS system. This article gives a brief introduction of interaction between HSS module and other modules in IMS system and session building process in IMS system. This paper gives a detail description of context manager and service selection engine how to implement service selection function in IMS system.Meanwhile, this article represents the service selection algorithm which is used in this architecture, that is service selection algorithm based on context-aware Ca-SSA and gives a brief introduction of implementation of algorithm's key function. At last this article runs this algorithm and gives an analysis of service selection model and algorithm's convergence based on running result. The result proves the method which is represented by this article can help users choose the best service from a large number of servers that can provide similar services according context information.
