Semantic-based context-awareness systems have shift from laboratory research and prototype system to real business applications. Business operations can be regarded as involving collaborative activities supported from numerous disparate resources (e.g. People, Devices, Services, etc). Users with various roles within enterprises use tools by all means to support their works; even highly experienced workers sometimes find it difficult to keep up to date with the number if resources available to help them complete a practical goal. This is a real challenge, particular in those large-scale companies where complex workflow and multiple resources are involved. The work done in this paper is given as follows:1. Based on the abstraction to daily workflows, we proposed a context-awareness based intelligent collaborative platform - Workplace, in this paper. The platform can to be used to compute users' potential goals by detecting the resources currently being used, and then recommend most related services and resources.2. By using OWL-based context model, as well as two metrics based on semantic aspects of the ontology to measure context granularity and association, Compare to current semantic reasoners, the reasoning mechanism used in this paper consumes less complexity, which made it easy to transplant to mobile devices.3. After given a detailed elaboration of the Workplace architecture, we evaluated the platform by using a practical workflow application, which reveals that by integrating the Workplace platform into on-hand business environments. Users can take full advantage of existing resources, under the premise of the greatest increase efficiency and achieve smart collaboration.
