With the development of Smart Grid construction, an increasingly rapid development is also got by wireless access network of the Power system. The increasing network bandwidth, the more complicated and diversified network application, and especially the diversification of transfer services and the complication of data traffic in wireless access network, all of this decide that the technical requirements of multi-service access terminal such as security, flexibility, reliability and real-time must be satisfied.The need of power services such as mobile sale of electricity power, load management, power demand information acquisition, distribution monitoring, video surveillance, mobile office is growing increasingly. There are large flow video services, delay-sensitive voice services and small amount of burst data services. How to satisfy the needs of multi-service access transmission and implement flow control on it is a big problem in Smart Grid development.According to the relevant demand on electric power services, this paper proposes a design of the multi-service access terminal used in power system based on McWiLL broadband wireless technology. Hardware design is based on MEM 160 module and expand its function according to the related service requirements, making the terminal meet the access demand of the power industry, software uses the thought of hierarchical modular design, layered from the driver layer, API function layer to the service application layer, which can meet the access needs of power service, and bring easy integration and application in power enterprises. The independent software modules will benefit to transplant and modify the software, and maintain and upgrade the product easily. This paper tests on the terminal in the real network environment, and analyse the utilization of system resources, verify the terminal's automatic power-up function, automatic registration function when dropping, multi-service access functions and functions of service flow and congestion control which can guarantee the smooth realization of multi-service access.
