Polarimetric radar interferometry is much more sensitive to the distribution of a vegetated land than either polarimetry or interferometry alone, so, PolInSAR both get the wealth of information on ground targets from polarimetric SAR and interferometric SAR, it makes PolInSAR to be more and more important in the field of SAR remote sensing image, the application of coherent scattering model in the polarimetric SAR interferometry is becoming a hot point in microwave remote sensing. The research work of this paper includes 3 aspects:1. Introduces the details of the basic theory of PolInSAR, including vector interference, coherence optimization, and analysis the scattering mechanism of PolInSAR. Find the difference sensitivity of the vegetation layer from different polarization channel data.2. Analysis the vegetation coherent scattering model, describes the structure of the three classical model and analysis their pros and cons of inversion parameters in the forest scene, and analysis the scattering mechanism of this following models, including surface scattering model, volume scattering model, random volume scattering mode, oriented volume scattering model and random volume over ground scattering mode.3. For the application of coherent scattering model in the polarimetric SAR interferometry, complete algorithm of the interference phase difference inversion method of forest vegetation height and three-stage vegetation height inversion algorithm of double level coherent scattering model separately by the same simulated data and real data of ESA. Through the experimental results, compare the merits of the two methods on the vegetation height inversion. Based on this conclusion, this paper presents an improved algorithm of vegetation height inversion, which combines the altitude compensation and the interference phase difference. Through the comparison of experiment results by the same data, we get the advantages of this improved algorithm.
