The recognition of radar emitter signals is an important component of target recognition technology, also a key technology in signal processing of radar countermeasures, by extracting the feature parameters of radar echo signal based on deinterleaving. The important information about the system, application and type of the radars can be gained by further analysis of these feature parameters. With the drastic countermeasure activities of modern electronic warfare, complex radars increase rapidly and occupied the dominant position gradually. Complex and changeful signal waveforms make the validity of traditional recognition lose gradually. In recent years, domestic and foreign researchers apply themselves to analysis and extract new and more effective features of radar signals to realize the recognition of modern complex radar signals. Features of radar signals include purposive modulated features and individual features. So the paper utilizes distinct method to extract the two kinds of features respectively. This paper mainly studies the following aspects:1. The mathematical model and feature parameters of radar emitter signals are studied. Artificial modulation and unmeant modulation of intra-pulse are analyzed. Then the recognition model of radar emitter signals is improved.2. Starting from purposive modulated features extraction, several common methods are introduced. A cascade normalization based feature extraction method is put forward so that the feature derived from instantaneous frequency can be extracted, and to achieve recognition of modulation types. Some simulations are done to illustrate the relevant technologies.3. Starting from individual features extraction, based on higher order statistics and such modern signal processing theory, bispectrum analysis is performed through transform domain. Then bispectrum features of radar emitter signal are extracted and optimized. Simulation results show that these features can effectively reflect the individual differences between radar emitter signals.
