The Research And Realization Of The Intelligent DNS System In Campus

With the rapid development of campus network, most of the colleges have built their own campus network. In order to make full use of resources in the CERNET, most of the colleges regard the CERNET as a major exporter of the campus network. Because the bandwidth between CERNET and public network is so narrow that campus network users connect the public network slowly. To solve this problem, many colleges have connected the dual-link that could connect the CERNET and public network links. The speed of campus network to access external network has improved, but the public network users to access the campus network is still slow. Because the campus network server is using a CERNET IP, all of the campus network is visited by the CERNET link, therefore, the campus network with high-speed public network link, but the public network user only can access to campus network severs by a bottleneck CERNER link.It is also a serious waste of the export link. Therefore, we need a solution that is less investment, less modification to the original structure, and can accelerate the speed of public network access to the campus network.This paper has a deep research on multihoming's operation mechanism that is widely used at present. And this paper analyzes the intelligence resolve strategies of DNS. We proposed an Intelligent DNS analysis solution that is based on multi link, combined with the dynamic DNS and Nagios-based traffic monitoring technology. According to ISP of user and link status, the solution return optimal server IP. When dual-link status is all good, according to ISP of user, the Intelligence DNS will resolve domain. When one link is out of order, the Intelligent DNS will return a good status link of server IP. Because the solution adopt the open source software that is inexpensive cost,easy to achieve and it is fit for colleges.
