BRAS Equipment Applications And Deployment Scheme Design In MAN

MAN is the key to development of communication network, and the key network set up by telecom operators. Along with the development towards to digitalized, broad band and intelligent MAN, and increased multimedia businesses including voice, data and image, it is more important to increase technical performance of broad band MAN by use of high speed access technology including advanced swapper, transmission, and xDSL. BRAS equipment has played a vital role in the development process of MAN, resulting in more clear level of MAN, more effective access, monitor and safety for network users, and more reasonable and efficient utilization of network bandwidth.Based on the analysis on the development of MAN, and application demand of MAN in Gansu Province, the paper has summarized and analyzed several aspects including technical features of BRAS, its importance in MAN, current situation of MAN operation, business development status and exited problems to make comparative analysis on BRAS arrangements. According to actual situation, two reform arrangements on MAN are put forwards, and reasonable arrangement is determined through demonstration and comparison on two reform arrangements.
