Wireless sensor network is a distributed network system which is composed of a largenumber of tiny sensor nodes. This network system can be widely used in national defense, national security, environmental monitoring, traffic management, health care, manufacturing,anti-terrorism and other disaster areas. It’s necessary to adopt encryption technology to ensuredata integrity and accuracy. However, many traditional key management schemes are notsuitable for sensor networks, such as the third-party server key management and the publickey-based key management scheme. Nowadays, key pre-distribution schemes are widely usedin sensor networks. Most of the existing key pre-distribution schemes have the shortcomingssuch as low connectivity, poor resistance and scalability. For the above reasons, this paperproposes an improved group key pre-distribution scheme IGDKPS(improvedkey-predistribution scheme based on group deployment).Firstly: the random key pre-distribution scheme and the deterministic key pre-distributionscheme based on the block design are researched and analyzed. Then we discuss theimplementation and the performance of the homogeneous group key pre-distribution scheme.Secondly: based on the thinking of group-deployment key pre-distribution,we makeimprovements to the TD(k,n) scheme, and design a resolved TD(k,n) scheme. Then we pull inthe Blundo scheme, this paper further propses an improved sensor network keypre-distribution scheme based on group-deployment by combining the Blundo scheme anddesigned TD(k,n) scheme. At last, theoretical analysis and simulation results show that: capared with other schemes, the proposed IGDKPS scheme has the following characteristics:(1)The IGDKPS scheme has a higher secure connectivity rate. The scheme cansignificantly improve the overall connectivity in sensor networks, make the in-group nodes’connectivity and cross-group nodes’ connectivity achieve a balanced state rate in the sensornetworks.(2)The IGDKPS scheme has a good resistance. Even in the case that a large numberof nodes are captured, the IGDKPS scheme can still show the outstanding resistancecompared to other shcemes.(3)The IGDKPS scheme has a high flexibility. Since the scheme’sparameter is variable, the IGDKPS scheme can adjust the connectivity and resilience of thenetwork based on the actual storage capacity of sensor nodes.
