Research Of Adult College Specialties Recommendation System Based On Data Mining And Collaborative Filtering

In recent years, as network technology advances, the emerging information technology is quickly moving closer to the education field. Recommender system is able to liberate the network users from mass infonnation, currently mainly used in electronic mall. The national adult college entrance examination online registration system should provide to the students proper information such as the specialties which are more suitable for themselves, the purpose of this study is how to recommend specialties to each candidate which meets their own unique expertise by specialties recommendation system.Firstly, to do with a brief introduction of the recommendation systems and data mining, highlighting the collaborative filtering algorithm and decision tree algorithms. Data mining is carried out with several hundred thousand adult college entrance examination registration records. Such as data collection, data cleaning and data conversion, data modeling finalized. An improved collaborative filtering algorithm is used in this system, the theoretical basis is the infonnation gain in data mining method and it was verified through experimental results. System uses the Oracle 8i database, using JAVA programming language, developed under the Eclipse environment. Conclusion of the paper on the experimental results carried out a detailed conclusion, analysis to identify the main problems and proposed improvement measures for further research to provide a better reference.
