In order to realize the simulation of computer calligraphy with robot arm, the paper firstly introduces some calligraphy works in accord with Lishu that was created by computer. Then, it parameterizes the skeleton and strokes' width that created the calligraphy works, which provides control information for the writing by robot arm. Information on skeleton and strokes' width is also tested.Secondly, the paper introduces and analyzes the robot arm, designs the interfaces between computer and robot arm and realizes the communication between the two and the real-time control of robot arm by computer.Thirdly, it tries to setup the initial position of robot arm and chooses the mode of the motion of robot arm. According the data of calligraphy parameterization and through the control by JBI files we complete the creation of calligraphy works using robot arm. Finally, we find the problems in the experiment after analyzing the result of experiment. By comparing the experiment method and the actual process of human handwriting, we propose the method of adding "return tips" and do get a better experimental result. This paper has implemented the calligraphy creation of computer simulation with the brush clamped by robot arm. But the works created doesn't include enough information, so it is needed to promote the effect of writing. The experimental results show that:the paper has effectively completed the creation of calligraphy works with the brush clamped by robot arm that is controlled by computer. For the lack of information included by the works, there is still a need for improvement on the writing effect. After adding the information of return tips, the writing effect has been greatly improved.
