With the development of modern military into high-tech process speed, the traditional active positioning systems, including radar, sonar and so on can't keep up with the pace of the times. Source positioning system for itself can't be discovered, low intercepted rate, far detection distance and advantages of good independence, has already gradually developing professionally in modern military. Meanwhile the traditional source orientation, for some bottleneck problem,such as its locating time is long, positioning accuracy is low and very sensitive to the measurement error,can hardly meet the practical operation requirements in actual combat. The future research orientation of source positioning system should be focused on improving positioning accuracy, reduce exploration locating time and so on.This paper deeply researches on source location technology, elaborate model source localization and positioning principles, and discusses some typical algorithm. Verified the validity of the method discussed in this paper by computer simulation.First, the digital equalization technology of wide-band adaptive array channel is researched, and a scheme of channel adaptive equalization is proposed. Secondly, discussed one of the basic information required to positioning, which is the problem of reach the point of view aspects, compared the performance of the MUSIC algorithm and the ESPRIT algorithm by simulation. A new wideband DOA estimation approach based on arbitrary group delay is proposed in the paper. In the proposed algorithm, echo gain at each direction is calculated based on digital group delay compensation. Digital group delay can realize time delay precisely, and has no restriction on delay step. The proposed method is able to operate arbitrary waveform and is suitable for linear frequency modulation signals, nonlinear frequency modulation signals, and even carrier free signals. Thirdly, Long Baseline TDOA location was discussed, the study was carried out on the data transfer in long baseline condition, the principle of time difference location and positioning error analysis and so on. Discussed the algorithm and precision of positioning of the source localization systematically in case of various parameters measurement Finally, multi-station location for station arrangement is proposed which is based on error propagation coefficient optimizing and derived the optimal positioning of two stations cloth station.
