In the modern communication system,with the increasing complexity of communication modulation mode and the increasing channel transmission capacity,high data transmission rates have been needed.In order to ensure no distortion of transmission signal,so the communication system made stringent requirements for the group delay specification The group delay specification of a channel is very important for ranging accuracy of a tracking system and signal quality of a communication channel.The deterioration of group delay can lead to waveform distortion and reduce the quality of signal transmission,which affect the correct reception and demodulation of transmission signals.For wideband signals,the group delay distortion within the pass-band will have a greater impact on the bit error rate of the received signals because of its wide bandwidth.In this paper,we take the 4PSK modulation as an example,the influence of group delay on the bit error rate(BER)of the system is studied in Matlab simulation environment.At the same time,a millimeter-wave(V-band)broadband down-conversion channel is designed for communication.In the ADS simulation environment,based on the broadband frequency conversion channel,the main components of the frequency channel,such as amplifier,filter and mixer group delay characteristics were simulated respectively,group delay characteristic of different parts are been obtained.In this paper,several different group delay equalization structures are proposed to equalize the group delay of frequency channel.The balanced structure includes lumped parameter all-pass network,ring microstrip network and variable equalizer based on SIR resonator.Test results show that the group delay distortion of broadband frequency conversion channel can be effectively compensated.
