Web Information Architecture On The Efficiency Of Visual Search

Goal of this study was to investigate the information architecture design web users on the network capacity of visual search. Research based on the existing visual search and Web user interface design literature, mainly on the web information architecture, Effects of different manifestations. Object is 15 with normal vision in the middle of the regular use of network users.To this end, we designed and implemented a three eye movement experiment with SMI iViewⅩHi-Speed eye tracker, the experimental model and hypotheses.First experiment investigated position relationship between the different information levels (horizontal alignment and the upper and lower order) visual search capabilities to users in the search time and the preference of the two variables.15 subjects were randomly divided into two groups in the 4 model simulation perform a search on static Web pages feel search.ExperimentⅡinvestigated the degree of color difference (a difference and no difference) on the visual search capabilities of users. The visual search time and degree of preference are the dependent variable. Collected and analyzed the experimental data. Laboratory equipment and experimental materials are the same with Experiment one.The third experiment mainly on the level of depth of information (two, three, and four) on the visual search capabilities of the user. Strictly on the experimental material variable control, collection of visual search time and degree of preference, laboratory equipment and materials in the same.Experiment and the experimental data through statistical analysis, the main conclusions are as follows:For more information needs to target words in the search page, an information section and two horizontal sections of information arranged in the most favorable structure of visual search.For more information needs to target words in the search page, an information section and information sectionⅡ, the same color is more conducive to visual search.For more information needs to target words in the search pages, the information depth of three of the most beneficial to the visual search.These findings can be used to guide the design of web information architecture, design criteria for the interface design, and ultimately to user-centered man-machine interface.
