Aiming at the characteristics of the video conferencing terminals, basing on software testing, the paper carried out the embedded software test technology research, which is applied to multimedia video conferencing terminals test process, and puts forward a set of test plan suitable for the current such product.This paper began on the basis of software testing, and analyzed the software and hardware system and the development process of the embedded system, which were to prepare the embedded software testing. Regardless of the kinds of software testing, the test needs analysis is necessary. Only the test needs analysis reached standards, it can let the after testing work smoothly. Secondly, according to the requirements analysis, design test cases is the key. This paper studied the test cases screening technology, automatic generation technology, test cases optimization and adjustment, the evaluation technique and defect tracking technology. Subsequently, the paper analyzed the embedded software test environment, and compares the current popular embedded software test tools. Finally, based on the requirements of multimedia video conferencing terminals which can do video communication, video footage and video playback, in the product's function, performance, friendly interface sex and network security, the paper design test cases, implement the testing process, make the test report analysis and summary, find out this test deficiencies, and proposed the next research direction.
