With the rapid development of information and communication technology, the consumer electronics product is developing in the direction of unprecedented interconnection and mutual control, interoperability, and the people’s lives are entering into a whole new intelligent era. Boundaries between smart phones and tablet computers, automotive electronics, security systems are becoming fuzzy. Multimedia entertainment and intelligent applications, multi.body connection becomes the main direction of the consumer electronic product, a picture of intelligent life is displayed to us.As a new intelligent consumer electronics product, mobile entertainment device is integrating into people’s lives. How to ensure the software quality of consumer electronics products to meet the need of people, have become the new requirement for the software testing. Compare with other software product, software system in mobile entertainment device has the common characteristics. Aiming at the characteristics of mobile entertainment device, based on software quality and software testing technology, we combined with the characteristics of multimedia technology, launched a research on software testing technology about mobile entertainment device, and applied the technology to the testing process of car navigation multimedia system, also came up with a set of software testing plan for such consumer electronics product.The thesis began with the basal technology of multimedia, analyzed of the application status of mainstream multimedia technology, combined with basal software testing, and prepared the way for the later research on software testing technology about mobile entertainment device. Software testing requirement analysis is necessary before the development and testing of software products, perfect and clear testing requirement can make the follow.up testing work carry out smoothly. Based on the testing requirements, the thesis expanded the design of key test cases, studied on test cases generation method and test technology optimization and adjustment, as well as to the adequacy of assessment and defect tracking technology in the testing work. The thesis also designed the software and hardware testing environment about mobile entertainment device, compared the commonly used testing simulation tools, such as virtual prototyping and virtual instrumentation, gave the record statistical method of testing results which facilitates the communication about software design defects and corresponding improvement measures between software testers and R&Ds(researchers and designers). Finally, on the case of the software testing on car navigation multimedia system, the paper designed test cases from the multimedia playback capabilities and the signal communication performance, user interface friendliness of the electronic product according to the testing requirements. With regard to the commonly used video player and BT communication software, the thesis also designed the testing cases in the light of its characteristics, analyzed and summarized the test reports after implementing the testing process, looked for defects and deficiencies of the software product, and pointed out the research directions for software testing technologies in the future.
