Along with the development of information and communication industry, modern information and communication service is moving toward more network and intelligent direction, network integration become the trend of the times. Modern service relies on new generation level open communication network, various access devices enjoy unified one-stop modern service, user means of communication with the varied, including both the traditional PSTN, ISDN, GSM, and 3G, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, trunked communications, Cable and satellite, etc. Covers business types include innovative services such as e-commerce, digital medical, remote education, modern logistics, and the upgraded traditional service industry by using modern information and communication technology.In a variety of integrated business applications, streaming media services is an important business component. Services such as video conference, remote education, electronic business negotiations, online program watching, etc, will involve streaming media information collection and transmission. Streaming media service is becoming more and more important in current status of information service.In this paper, I rely on the project of the modern service industry in the communication network adaptation layer, based on the streaming media service part of design of the mobile access platform system with supporting intelligent handover, further to research the identification of streaming media service traffic and heterogeneous network selection strategy and algorithm based on streaming media business character. According to the characteristics of streaming media traffic and its protocol type, combined with exist identification method at network layer and application layer, to study a suitable recognition process for streaming media traffic. According to the streaming media business QoS characteristics (high ber requirements, allow certain delay, high bandwidth requirements) in the network selection strategy, combined with user preferences, according to the two aspects to study the network selection strategy, put forward a suitable network selection algorithm.In the second half part of this paper, I will also introduce my participation in the Chinese communication standardization association (CCSA) research subject:research of heterogeneous network adaptation layer architecture and interface function facing the modern service. This topic researches and collects the research achievements of some communication standardization organizations about next generation network structure and interface standardization, such as NGN, Parlay, Parlay X Web Service, etc. On the basis of these content arrangement, analysis and contrast, combining research of modern service industry communication network adaptation layer, for the future studies of this accumulating raw material, and the future of standardization to provide constructive suggestions.
