With the development of the variety of the wireless access technology, enhancenment of the multi-interface capability of the mobile node and the overlapping coverage of the wireless communication networks, the future wireless network will be the heterogeneous network. More new requirements will be presented. The developing trend of the heterogeneous network will be the convergece, which aims to integrate the different wirless communication network on the core network layer. The SAE (System Architecture Evolution) network architecture proposed by the 3GPP, realizes part of this feature.SAE, as heterogeneous network architecture, Althougth the interconnection of the communication networks is realized in SAE, the vertical handover and other mobility management related operation need to be improved to suit the converging network. A modification of the SAE architecture which adds new logic funcatinal entities is proposed based on this point. As the correspondence, the optimized PMIPv6 and IEEE 802.21 protocols and tools are utilized with the proposed procedure, aiming to realize the coordination of the communication networks. The optimization scheme is the intergration of optimization mechanisms, in which the optimization mechanisms can coordinate with each other. The network resource and information can be reused and shared in order to increase the efficiency. The analysis and simulation results validate the availability of the proposed scheme.
