In order to meet the diversity of customer needs and requirements of the high quality of products,features of modern mechatronic product are often numerous, complex, diverse types of materials and manufacturing processes, resulting in increased collaboration, project organizational difficulties and long development cycle. There will be conflict in the design process, inconsistent model version and many other issues. As to how complex product development projects to achieve high quality and high efficiency have become a prominent problem.In this paper, set half-feed combine harvester case reverse design as an example, research on network planning techniques product data management (PDM) and the concurrent engineering of complex products in the organization and management of the project, designed by means of virtual prototyping technology to improve Reverse complex products development speed and quality of the project.Firstly, in the early stages of product development, product development project planning, and time course of the project to develop detailed arrangements and use of network planning techniques to manage the project schedule, the network planning technique to identify the critical path of product development. Further use of product data management techniques in the design process ,that the data and documents generated by the management, through the bill of materials (BOM) to describe the product structure tree and management of product data information. Product designers and managers to facilitate their management and operation of components and parts to achieve the reverse modeling, re-engineering, virtual assembly and manufacturing process of the unity of all.Secondly, the detailed design stage of the product, according to characteristics of the structure of product components, and for the function of clear, regular shape parts, by the forward design approach design products. For parts with complex shape, using the traditional non-contact mapping and measurement of the physical combination to reverse design.Finally, using of virtual design technology assembly the digital model of the product in the Pro / E software, and using software provided by it analysis the space size check, global interference checking and collision detection, in order to detect when the design problem design flaw as far as possible into the next link. Studied and implemented in line with national standards making drawings of parts method.Application shows that, through product data management (PDM), network planning, virtual prototyping technology, comprehensive utilization of complex products can successfully achieve the reverse, can reduce design defects and shorten the project development cycle, improve product development efficiency.
